The 26th Southeast Asian Games will be held in Indonesia in 2011. This will be the fourth time that Indonesia will host the SEA Games. Indonesia last hosted the games in 1997.
The capital city of Jakarta has been the host of Southeast Asian Games for three times, namely in 1979, 1987, and 1997.

Host cities.
The games will be hosted by the South Sumatran city of Palembang. As the main host, Palembang will only hold 20 of 44 sports, the rest will be held by a co-host city.
Opening Ceremony.
The opening ceremony will be held in Jakabaring Stadium, Palembang, South Sumatra.
Logo and Mascot
The official Logo of SEA Games this time is not specified, but the National Sports Committee of Indonesia prefers to use Komodo dragon as the logo.
Previously, government of Palembang chose Elephant as the mascot through an open contest, but President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the National Sports Committee of Indonesia decided to use Rajawali instead. Rajawali is an Indonesian hawk.

Sports
The 2011 Southeast Asian Games will features hundreds of events in 44 disciplines.
During the SEA Games Federation Coucil Meeting in Hotel Mulia, Jakarta, on May 2010, The SEAGF Sports and Rules Committee proposed three categories of sports to be competed in the games. The meeting also increased the number of sport competed. Indonesia proposed to hold paragliding, wall climbing, roller skating, bridge, futsal and soft tenis. While, the other South Asian countries proposed arnis, muay thai, hockey, netball, petanque, squash, triathlon, vovinam and cricket. The 2011 SEAG edition will not will not include modern pentathlon, an Olympic sport.
